Where can I find my AWS Marketplace credentials?

How do I find my username and password?

    Instance
    • The default username for SSH access is “bitnami”.
    • There is no password, as you must use your AWS private key to access the instance console.

Refer to this question for more information on accessing your instance over SSH.

    Application

The application username depends on the application. You can find the application username in the “Usage Instructions” section for your AWS Marketplace product subscription, as shown below.

AWS Marketplace Bitnami images are built to generate a random password during the first boot. This is only done for AMIs launched using the Amazon Marketplace. This password can be viewed in the "System Log" of the Marketplace AMI, as follows:

    • Select the instance you started from the AWS Marketplace
    • Select the "Actions ->Get System Log" menu item.

    • Review the system log until you find the application password.

IMPORTANT: This password is only shown the first time you start the image. Please save your password in a safe place. We also recommend changing it in your application to a different value.
    Database
    • The database administrator username is “root” for MySQL databases and “postgres” for PostgreSQL databases.
    • The database administrator password is the same randomly generated password as that used for the application.

Refer to this page to find out how to access phpMyAdmin or PhpPgAdmin to manage the database easily from your browser.

How to connect to the server through SSH?

The basic approach is to download your private key from your AWS account. On Linux and Mac OS X come bundled with SSH clients by default. To connect to your server using SSH, you need to open a Terminal and type the following:

    $ ssh -i /path/to/private_key.pem bitnami@ec2-xx-yy-zz.compute-1.amazonaws.com

Note the default user is "bitnami". If you are trying to access from Windows or need more info about SSH connection, please check this SSH guide.

If you find a similar error similar to the following one:

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ WARNING: UNPROTECTED PRIVATE KEY FILE! @
    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Permissions 0644 for 'private_key.pem' are too open.

It is only necessary to change the private key file permissions. You can run the following command on OS X or Linux:

    chmod 600 /path/to/private_key.pem

How can I find the database username and password?

The database administrator username is “root” for MySQL databases and “postgres” for PostgreSQL databases.

The database administrator password is the same randomly generated password as that used for the application (more information).

Refer to this page to find out how to access phpMyAdmin or PhpPgAdmin to manage the database easily from your browser.

How to reset the application password?

We strongly suggest to change the application password from the application itself. Once you are logged in the application go to the User settings panel to change the administrator password.

If this approach does not work for you, you can try to access to the server through SSH and run the following command to reset the application administrator password.

Warning: Please do not run this tool in a production machine. It usually requires changes in the database so please ensure you have a full backup or snapshot of your instance.

The following approach only works for the administrator user for your application. Please replace "your_application" string with the name of the application that you are using and "mypassword" string with the password that you want to use for the application.

    cd /opt/bitnami/apps/your_application
    sudo ./bnconfig --userpassword mypassword

Then you can try to access again to the administration panel of your application from your browser using your new password.

    How to configure my application?

We have different FAQs for each Bitnami application. For example "how to configure my email?", "how to configure the URL of the application?" or "how to configure the domain?".

Please check the FAQs for your application here.
