Where can I find my AWS Marketplace credentials?

How do I find my username and password?

AWS Marketplace Bitnami images have been built to configure a random password during the first boot. You can find the application credentials in the "System Log" of the Marketplace AMI.

    1.  Select the instance you started from the AWS Marketplace
    2. Go to "Actions" -> "Get System Log" and you can find the application user and password in this log file.

IMPORTANT: this password will be only shown the first time you start the image. Please save your password in a safe place. We also recommend to change it in your application.

How to connect to the server through SSH?

The basic approach is to download your private key from your AWS account. On Linux and Mac OS X come bundled with SSH clients by default. To connect to your server using SSH, you need to open a Terminal and type the following:

    $ ssh -i /path/to/private_key.pem bitnami@ec2-xx-yy-zz.compute-1.amazonaws.com

Note the default user is "bitnami". If you are trying to access from Windows or need more info about SSH connection, please check this SSH guide.

If you find a similar error similar to the following one:

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ WARNING: UNPROTECTED PRIVATE KEY FILE! @
    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Permissions 0644 for 'private_key.pem' are too open.

It is only necessary to change the private key file permissions. You can run the following command on OS X or Linux:

    chmod 600 /path/to/private_key.pem

How can I find the database username and password?

The database administrator password will be configured to use the same randomly generated password. If the application uses MySQL database you can log in the database using the following credentials:

    User: root
    Password: randomly generated

If the application uses PostgreSQL database, you should use the "postgres" user to log in the database.

    User: postgres
    Password: randomly generated

You can also check how to access phpMyAdmin or PhpPgAdmin applications to manage the databases easily from your browser here.

How to reset the application password?

We strongly suggest to change the application password from the application itself. Once you are logged in the application go to the User settings panel to change the administrator password.

If this approach does not work for you, you can try to access to the server through SSH and run the following command to reset the application administrator password.

Warning: Please do not run this tool in a production machine. It usually requires changes in the database so please ensure you have a full backup or snapshot of your instance.

The following approach only works for the administrator user for your application. Please replace "your_application" string with the name of the application that you are using and "mypassword" string with the password that you want to use for the application.

    cd /opt/bitnami/apps/your_application
    sudo ./bnconfig --userpassword mypassword

Then you can try to access again to the administration panel of your application from your browser using your new password.

    How to configure my application?

We have different FAQs for each Bitnami application. For example "how to configure my email?", "how to configure the URL of the application?" or "how to configure the domain?".

Please check the FAQs for your application here.
